Pre-Cleanse Info

We are so excited that you have booked a Cleanse with us! This is the start of a great transformation. 

Before you jump right into your Cleanse, it is important that you prepare yourself for what is to come – both physically and mentally.  We call this the Pre-Cleanse and it is very important in the Cleanse process as it will determine how you feel going into the Cleanse.

The Pre-Cleanse is solely determined by you.  The more you stick with our protocols, the fewer detox symptoms you will feel and the longer your results will last.  We recommend 1-2 days for those who have a healthy lifestyle and longer if you have not been so healthy!  The pre-cleanse will also start the detox process.

For your pre-cleanse, we would like you to cut back on all processed and refined foods and drinks. You should also stay away from fried foods, caffeine, soda, alcohol, nicotine, animal protein, dairy, and sugar.  In combination with these cutbacks, we would like you to continue to drink more water than usual (one extra litre per day) everyday of your pre-cleanse.  Basically, what we are asking is that you eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, which you may lightly steam, but try to stick to mostly raw.

The day before your Cleanse begins, you should be eating at least 95% raw fruit and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouts.

Starting immediately, as soon as you wake up and before you brush your teeth, we would like you to drink 1 full litre of room-temperature water with the juice of one lemon squeezed inside.  This will awaken your liver and help it to flush out any toxins that have accumulated over night.  It will also rev up your digestion for the day as well.

There are many side-effects that can happen during your pre-cleanse and Cleanse period - some you may find uncomfortable.  Although our clients have found that they feel more energised, have clarity of mind, skin begins to glow, stomach flattens, eyes become clear and white, and weight is lost (roughly 1lb per day), you may also feel sluggish, depleted of energy, sore muscles, headache and cold-like symptoms.  These are ALL signs that toxins are being released from your muscles and organs.  These will be minimised with a good pre-cleanse and should go away after day two of your Cleanse.  Keep in mind that this is a mental process as well.  Keeping a positive attitude will help you during this time.

Cleanses that are two days or longer will be prepared two days at a time, unless you specify otherwise. During your Cleanse, we would like you to be drinking 3-4 litres of water throughout the day but please, NOT with a meal/juice as this will slow down your digestion.  Wait at least 20 minutes before and after eating to drink your water.  Please don't forget to chew (both your meals and juices) as the first stage of digestion begins in your mouth!  In addition to drinking water, take some time to do activities that encourage the elimination of toxins such as yoga, exercising, going to the sauna, doing colonics, going for a vitamin drip, taking an Epsom salt bath, and meditating.

For us, leaving the smallest carbon footprint is very important and is one of the reasons we use glass bottles.  At the end of each night, please leave your empty, rinsed bottles outside your door for our drivers to pick up.  We only pick up bottles on days that we are delivering to you.  You are responsible for bringing back the last day of bottles or to reuse or recycle them.  With the return of each 250ml & 500ml bottle, you will receive 1 in store credit.  Once you accumulate 10 Credits, you can redeem them for 1 x 500ml bottle of juice!

Breaking your Cleanse is just as important as your time spent Cleansing. As soon as you eat cooked foods, your detoxification will end.  For as long as possible after your Cleanse is over, eat as much raw food as possible.  For the first two days after your Cleanse, drink smoothies and eat a lot of salads and fresh fruit.  On days 3 and 4 slowing introduce lightly steamed vegetables, gluten-free grains and cereals such as quinoa and tofu or tempeh.  Don’t start to reintroduce animal products until at least 5 or 6 days after your Cleanse has ended.

We recommend taking some time to document your journey, in whatever way expresses you!  Detoxing and the release of unwanted toxins can be seen in many forms.  Not only will your physical body be releasing these toxins, but your emotional and spiritual body will too.  Take note of your feelings and emotions.  Take some photos of yourself, before and after.  Keep a journal documenting your body feelings at different stages in your Cleanse.  Whatever will help you document this journey - it can be quite amazing, the changes you will see!
